Get Started Make a Referral What Our Clients Say and what we believe helps it happen "I finally feel understood" We see our client's as whole people, not problems to fix. We pay attention to context recognizing how culture, identity, and history shape your experience today. We don’t see language, identity, or access needs as barriers; they’re part of how we support you. "I don't feel stuck anymore" We use healing approaches that actually make sense in your world. We never advise to cut off family or culture because how can you cut off a part of yourself? You start to move forward not because you’ve changed who you are, but because you can understand that your patterns are not problems. "I can feel what it is to heal" Healing here isn’t about erasure. Healing is about integration, about reconnecting with yourself. You learn to trust your emotions, regulate your body, and build safety in your relationships. Over time, therapy feels less like fixing and more like remembering what wholeness feels like. We're here to help What is Nuna Behavioral Healthcare? Nuna is a mental health private practice focused on creating a healthcare experience where the patients feel important, understood, and safe. We connect patients with therapists and medical professionals for personalized, respectful care. Is therapy right for me? Therapy can be beneficial to anyone at any time. At Nuna, we believe in its value so much that all our therapists also have therapists. Therapy is a powerful tool to help you achieve your goals, navigate challenges, and feel your best. Who is the right therapist for me? The right therapist is someone who understands your unique needs, whether you’re seeking a safe space to heal or someone to provide structure and guidance as you grow. At Nuna, we prioritize helping you find a therapist who reflects your identity and can support your journey. That’s why we offer consultations—so you can connect, explore their style, and ensure they’re the right fit for you. How much will it cost? With insurance, sessions average around $21, depending on your plan. Without insurance, sliding scale sessions start at $60, based on the type of treatment, provider, and your individual circumstances. If you're interested in sliding scale options, please let us know—availability is flexible. For psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy (PAP), there may be additional costs due to its specialized nature. Dosing sessions are $145 per hour, but PAP is designed for occasional use, making it a worthwhile investment. How can I find out exactly how much it will cost? People who use their insurance save an average of 78% on the cost of therapy. Get a cost estimate , learn more about how to check your coverage , or contact us at (213) 531-0291 or your insurance company for more details (see the "verify your insurance" page to learn more on how to do this). Can I combine therapy and medication management? Absolutely. Combining talk therapy with prescription medication often leads to better outcomes for many conditions. Start by meeting with a therapist to identify your goals and needs—they’ll guide you in finding the right combination of treatments tailored to you. Should I do a 15-minute free consultation? A 15-minute consultation is the best way to ensure your therapist is the right fit for your needs. While it may feel like an extra step, it sets the foundation for better treatment outcomes by clarifying expectations, exploring treatment options, discussing fees and scheduling, and answering any questions you may have. What should I expect in the 15-minute free consultation? Your therapist will introduce themselves, explain the process, and ask about your needs and goals. This is your chance to share expectations, ask questions, and ensure the fit feels right. Remember, this is a two-way conversation—you’re interviewing them too. If it’s not the right match, there are no hard feelings. Not ready to meet with a therapist? Your provider will gather your chief complaint, background information and discuss current symptoms to determine a diagnosis. You will leave this appointment with a solid treatment plan. Individual Session A standard, weekly therapy appointment, in which the length is determined by a client’s concerns and needs. Sessions may be 45 minutes, 50 minutes, or 60 minutes long. Your therapist will use the treatment plan that was collaboratively created to ensue that you are making progress towards your therapeutic goals. Couples Session For couples who would like a trained therapist to assist them in improving communication and relationship dynamics. A couples therapist may meet with each person individually and then together as couple. Frequency and duration may also vary due to each couple's needs. ESA and FMLA Letters In accordance with federal guidelines, our therapists can provide Emotional Support Animal (ESA) and Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) letters after 30 days of care. If at any point you need documentation to support your well-being, your therapist can assess whether there is a clinical basis for the request and, if appropriate, provide the letter. Referrals If at any point your therapist determines that additional support would benefit your care, we can provide referrals for medication management, intensive outpatient programs (IOP), or community-based resources. Our goal is to ensure you have the right level of care and connection to services that best support your healing. Screenings Throughout your care, we use short symptom check-ins to make sure your therapy is helping you move toward your goals. These may include quick questionnaires like the ASRS (for ADHD), GAD-7 (for anxiety), PHQ-9 (for depression), or PTSD screening tools. They help us better understand how you’re doing and adjust your care when needed.

Therapeutic Journey HOGAR SERVICIOS Y PRECIOS Our Therapists Our Policies File Share Social Justice Statement For Patients Patient Portal New Page Check Your Insurance Coverage Reviews New Page Blog NUESTROS TERAPEUTAS Search Results Booking Page Schedule a Virtual Appointment Members Close Self-Verifying Insurance Most health insurance plans include mental health and substance use treatment. Typically insurance cards limit information on them and don't include details about your benefits, copay or co-insurance amount, or if your mental healthcare is managed by a different company than the one showing on your card. Before you start, always confirm your coverage with your insurance provider before scheduling any appointments. This step ensures you won't face unexpected out-of-pocket expenses. How to verify your insurance benefits and eligbility 01 Prepare for the call 02 Contact Insurance Provider 03 Document and communicate details Steps to Self-Verify 01: Prepare for the Call Before calling your insurance provider, gather the necessary information to verify your benefits. The goal is to confirm whether your provider and the services they offer are covered under your plan. Check Network Status: You will want to ask if the provider is "in-network." Our group practice bills using the Tax IDs and NPIs of the licensed clinicians so please give us a call to receive the specific NPIs and Tax IDs that would correspond with the provider you have scheduled your appointment with. Prior Authorization: Determine if prior authorization is needed for services. If using EAP benefits: Have your authorization letter and number ready. If not using EAP benefits: Be prepared with the CPT codes for services – 90791 (initial evaluation), 90837 (60-minute session), and 90834 (45-50-minute session). 02: Contact Your Insurance Provider Find the "Member Services" or "Customer Service" number on your insurance card, usually on the back. Have the following information ready: Insurance ID number Your name, date of birth, and Social Security number For example, on a Cigna card, the customer service number is typically located at the bottom of the back side (#14 in the sample card image). Each plan has a unique layout, but you can generally use numbers labeled "Customer Service," "Member Service," or "Mental Health/Behavioral Health." 03: Document and Communicate Details Ask the following questions during your call and write down the responses, including the name of the representative and any reference numbers: What is my copay for routine services? (you can use the CPT codes if you want to be certain) What is my coinsurance percentage? How many therapy sessions are covered per year? Can you confirm if my provider is in-network? If the provider is not in-network. You can ask the following: Does my plan cover a portion of the cost before I meet my deductible? What does my plan cover after I meet my deductible? How much do I have left to reach my deductible?
