PSYCHODYNAMIC

As experts in our own struggle and how it relates to others we see the value in evidence-based practices when they are carefully combined with an anti-oppression perspective. We use a combination of interventions and perspectives to help individuals achieve their goals.

What to expect

This intervention is what is most commonly referred to as talk therapy. Sessions frequency based on need (twice a week, once a week, or every other week), homework assignments, increased insight. If the patient has a desire to increase insight into their internal process so that they may achieve their goals, a therapist would use this interventions. This intervention is seamlessly used with CBT and DBT in sessions if the therapist decides it would be helpful to use.

When would this be helpful

When a patient would like to understand the origins of their problems by exploring their unconscious thoughts, feelings, and past experiences. The goal is to help patients develop psychological skills that can lead to better choices and long-term well-being.
