Bienvenida!

I am a queer, Salvadoran-American Associate Clinical Social Worker who is passionate about working in collaboration with marginalized populations of color. I am also bilingual (fluent in English and Spanish) and work using strengths-based, trauma-informed care and harm reduction philosophies in my clinical practice.

Witnessing violence growing up, led me to question the oppression of women and ultimately pursue gender studies and social work in higher education. My personal need for safe spaces to be my authentic self, made me passionate about creating that in my practice.

What to expect at your session

As a Queer Salvadoran-American, who has faced both personal and intergenerational trauma, it is with great compassion and sensitivity that I approach this work. I want to create a space where clients feel safe and supported in who they are and feel comfortable enough to share their experiences.

My Strengths

I identify as being part of the Salvadorian diaspora of indigenous peoples born in the U.S., I have actively researched about my Pipil Mayan ancestry and do my best to raise my awareness on our history and current struggles, which is one of the reasons I do this work. We are still here.

I value collaboration, community integration, informed consent, and non binary forms of thinking and expression. These values are important to me because I have found they create safe spaces both internally and externally to navigate challenges and create healthier connections with ourselves and others. I also value decolonization and centering the voices of historically and present marginalized communities.

My Approach

As a Queer Salvadoran-American, who has faced both personal and intergenerational trauma, it is with great compassion and sensitivity that I approach this work. I want to create a space where clients feel safe and supported in who they are and feel comfortable enough to share their experiences.

I like to incorporate somatic practices in my work which include mindfulness meditation, deep breathing, physical exercises and play therapy to help clients with complex trauma. I also have specialized training in relational therapy, trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, and suicide prevention and intervention practices.
